Gary was born and raised in Western Massachusetts, where he married his wife, Rosemary, in 1983. At 29 years old, Gary accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and immediately began serving in many areas of ministry. Gary and his wife, Rosemary, have always had a great love for children, which showed through as both served as Sunday school and junior church teachers for many years while Gary was serving as the Sunday school superintendent. Shortly after his salvation, he was called into full-time ministry, under the preaching of Pastor Herb Koonce at Tabernacle Baptist Church (now Life Point Church), in Chicopee, MA.

Gary holds a Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree from Baptist Bible College East in Boston, MA, and served as senior pastor in Lancaster, PA, before moving to Maine, where he served as senior pastor in the Bangor area. Gary attended Liberty University, where he earned a Master of Professional Counseling degree and is currently a Christian counselor in his own business, “New Life Counseling,” with his office located at Crosspoint Church.  While attending Liberty University, Gary also earned a Master of Religion degree and a Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis on missions.

They have been serving faithfully at Crosspoint Church since 2009 and have served as missionaries to Nepal through Outreach to Asian Nationals (OTAN), a missions- minded organization that sends missionaries to high-risk and restricted-access countries. Gary has been appointed missionary manager to the country of Nepal and has been leading, teaching and training National Nepali pastors and pastors from surrounding access countries so they, in turn, can lead, teach and preach to their native people.

The Turgeons have two sons and a daughter (all graduates of Bangor Christian School) and 11 grandchildren.
